2008 Flash Back

Posted by srkimbles Jan. 25, 2009 @ 4:46 AM EST

Soooooo Whats up guys.... Im somewhat tired because it 3:30 in the morning and this is the second time i've had to write this. But anyway, I certainly hope you all had a wonderful 2008. I think I did for the most part. You know, everybody has their ups and downs.

2008

RIP Ruth L. Beauchamp, Feb 14, 1941 - Jan 4, 2008

JAN-MAR

ummmm not much happened in January. My mom-mom died on the 4th. I still cant believe it. It was obviously the biggest death in my close family since my dad died in October of 2003. That was about it for those months. I went to the Baltimore Orioles fanfest and opening day. I also started saving up for an Xbox 360.

APR-JUN

Not much happened again in April. We got a new cat. After a week of discussion, we settled on naming her Sophie (my mom can be stubborn sometimes). I went to a few more Orioles games. They had a decent first month at 15-12(surprisingly they led their division(AL East)). Their ability to win wouldn't last too long. My birthday is in May so thats a party month for me. Me and a couple of friends went out, saw a movie, then they spent the night. That same night I got my Xbox 360. I just got off of it for the first time ever a couple minutes ago....... Just kidding. I do have a life and friends...... IN REAL LIFE NOT ON XBOX LIVE. My favorite game so far is that I don't have a favorite game. Anyway, my last day of Middle School ended and the guys at Roosterteeth started up their new project. Red vs. Blue Reconstruction. While I did enjoyed Wash's mix of dry humor and serious attitude, I didn't think it was as enjoyable as the original Blood Gulch Chronicles. More Orioles games.

JUL-SEP

So in July we celebrated that birthday of the United States. About this time the US Presidency campaign really started to heat up. I hate all the damn commercials. In August I went to Busch Garden and had a blasty blast. I was getting ready to go back to School. Except I should say start, just because it was my first day going to High School. As usual I hated most of my teacher. That is pathetic but thats about all I did those months, homework and classwork. I did get CoD4 somewhere in that time period I think. I'm not sure. Either way its a good game. The Orioles season ended badly ( last in the division). The Ravens season started.

OCT-DEC

ahh and so it comes down to the three powerhouse holidays. Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas(apoligies to those do not celebrate christmas). Halloween I did nothing but sit on my ass. I think I was playing on my 360 that night. Then i'm going to take a pause right here. On November 4, 2008, we showed the KKK that we had balls and overcame racism by electing a black man president. I didn't think I would see that even in my lifetime. But look where blacks have come in 150 years. From working in fields to being president of the United States of America. But on to thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was somewhat empty this year because this was the first thanksgving since my mom-mom died. Christmas was pretty much the same except that we had a fun time opening presents from each other between the family and "Santa Clause". Don't doubt his existence. Or Rudolph will bite your head off. Seriously i'm not kidding. But I did recieve some games and my prized Authentic Joe Flacco Jersey. Tis my love. Later that week I went out and bought CoD W@W. At this point, the Ravens had made it to the playoffs. Sadly they would end up losing the AFC championship game to their biggest rivals. The Pittsburgh Steelers. The score was 23-14.

So I hope had as wonderul(and sometimes terrible) a 2008 as I did. And have a wonderful 2009 as well.

P.S.
I probably going to do Super bowl post game coverage after the game. Come check it out (if I don't get lazy)
